P12-56 |
|
|
|
During the last 50 years W.H.O. has built more large grinders than any other manufacturer. They built the first one and hold the original patent. More accumulative experience is available to W.H.O. customers than from any other manufacturer. W.H.O. provides superior service. When you call the factory, you talk to the people who built your grinder. Many of the original grinders built by W.H.O. are still in use today.
The benefits you need are built into a W.H.O. grinder. In the hay grinding business, the three most important benefits your equipment must provide are capacity, dependability and efficiency. W.H.O.'s P12-56 Tub Grinder, with its heavy-duty features and "built-tough" construction, meets the challenge. It'll stand up to continuous use with a minimum of downtime and service. The P12-56 is portable and designed to travel.
|
|
This large capacity, easy to operate machine grinds loose or baled hay (up to 100 tons per hour) and will also grind any variety of grain or stover.
Since receiving the original tub grinder patent in 1952, W.H.O. has made many design changes to benefit users. Each grinder is built to order and a variety of options are available to customers.
Avoiding costly downtime is important. When you purchase a dependable W.H.O. Tub Grinder, you can count on increasing your profits by meeting your projected time schedules and making the best use of your equipment.

FEATURES |
| |

The elevator is top driven with a large sheet metal hood. The ground product is directed downward to help avoid wind drift and aid in filling trucks

The tub is tilted hydraulically and held up by a safety brace for changing hammers, screens or servicing. The safety brace is stored under the tub. As the tub is raised the tub brace lever at left edge of the tub is used to position the brace over the edge of the frame. The tub is then lowered slightly and rests on the brace. The brace is disengaged when the tub is raised and held up under the tub by the tub brace lever as the tub is lowered. Heavy cross bracing keeps the tub flat and rigid

A heavy-duty 81 XHHR chain withstands sudden load changes such as large square or round bales. The tub rests on eleven tub rollers. Each roller is supported by two pillowblock ball bearings. Smooth rollers run against the tub to keep it centered. Adjustments are made by moving set screws in or out on the base.

The step built on to the grinder is for use by the operator when changing screens. A heavy hinged door lets down for inspecting or cleaning out the dragbox.

Sizing screens are made in two sections. Seven-eights inch bar stock is used for the frame. Combined area of screens is 2,800 square inches. Standard hole sizes run from 1/16" through 6". Optional sizes available upon request.

The tub is driven by an Auburn planetary gear with a ration of 22:1. The power is from a pump powered by the jackshaft. The hydraulic fluid tank holds 45 gallons.

When the cylinder encounters tough or dense material, an electronic sensor keeps the unit from slugging or overloading by slowing down the tub rotation. The degree of sensitivity is selected by the use of a dial. Forward or reverse tub rotation is controlled by the lever on the left side of the controls.

The controls for height, folding and unfolding of the elevator are all conveniently located in one area at the end of the frame. The standard elevator is 28' long and 20" wide (Optional 24", 30", or 36" available) and the end rises to a height of 18'

The heavy-duty cylinder shaft is 56" long and 4 7/8" in diameter, with 3 15/16" diameter bearing journals. Ninety-six 3/8" thick hammers are spaced between every other cylinder plate in eight rows of 12. Cylinder is factor balanced for vibration-free operation. Balancing can be performed in the field following directions given in the owner's manual. Bearings on the main shaft and drive are heavy-duty SKF ball bearings.

The Adjustment for the dragbox belt, belt roller and the bearings is protected by safety guards. All thread adjustments are protected by the telescoping square tubing.
When the elevator is folded for transport the grinder is 45" long and 13'6" high.

The elevator is folded and unfolded by the use of the hydraulic controls located at the rear of the machine. It is supported by legs when in use. The legs fold up under the elevator and are held in place for transport by two pins.
